Critics' Choice Television Awards 2014: Diane Kruger, Emmy Rossum, and 9 Other Stars Who Didn't Wear Basic Black (Or Cream) On the Red Carpet
Another day, another awards show. And though they may feel a little old hat by this time in the year, you can't really complain about a ceremony that brings style stars like soon-to-be-handbag-designer Diane Kruger, Emmy Rossum, Keri Russell, and Lizzy Caplan out onto the red carpet, right? Which is exactly what happened at Thursday's fourth-annual Critics' Choice Television Awards, with these and other big-name stars heating up the awards show red carpet in glamorous gowns and elegant ensembles. And though there was plenty of your basic black and cream at the event, 11 stars in particular turned up in hot hues and printed pieces that totally stunned. Click through to check out the evening's best beyond-basic looks.
Emmy Rossum
Rossum’s pretty pink Monique Lhuillier ensemble reminded me a lot of Emma Stone’s 2014 Met Gala outfit — and that’s most definitely not a complaint. Plus, those dangling earrings are absolute stunners.
Lizzy Caplan
From her side-swept tresses to her butterfly-adorned Valentino gown, the Masters of Sex actress looked both high fashion and casual-cool at the annual awards show.
Keri Russell
It was refreshing to see The Americans actress veer away from her typical all-black ensembles — especially when she traded them out for one sizzling and plunging J. Mendel number.
Christina Applegate
It may be pretty simple, but there’s something ultra-feminine and classy about Applegate’s sparkling Mikael D dress and perfect red lip.
Michelle Monaghan
Monaghan was one of the few to opt for pants at the event, but her royal blue Antonio Berardi jumpsuit was uber-chic when paired with a plain white bodice and crisp pumps.
Bellamy Young
Though her complementary crop top and voluminous skirt combo from Honor is undeniably beautiful, I think we can all agree that the real highlight of the Scandal star’s outfit is that killer shoe.
Kat Graham
Graham always nails an impossibly cool vibe, and her embellished, two-piece Escada suit did nothing but help on this occasion.
Sarah Silverman
The funny lady looked retro and feminine in her floral-print, midi-length Lela Rose dress and cross-strap heels.
Uzo Aduba
Shining bright in her flowing and patterned vintage dress, the OITNB actress rocked an effortlessly glam look with ease.
Carrie Preston
The True Blood actress looked like a total southern charm in her off-the-shoulder Black Halo gown, which showed off a refreshing dose of color and volume with its full, printed skirt.
