Lindsay Went Streaking in London, Everyone

by Rachel Semigran

Well here's a bit of news to pep up your day. It has been reported that Lindsay Lohan went streaking throughout the posh London retailer Selfridge's (yes, the very same Selfridge's of Jeremy Piven Masterpiece fame). The star has been in London preparing for her West End stage debut in the play Speed-the-Plow. While she was in the upscale department store, Lohan allegedly ran out of a changing room, completely naked and dashed about the floor while employees tried frantically to uphold the whole "No, shirt no, shoes, no service" policy. Oh and she did it all while laughing her head off. If you're going to pull a stunt, you might as well do it naked and laughing.

According to the UK tabloid newspaper The Sun , a witness commented, "Lindsay took some items into the changing room. Halfway through, she ran out of the room with nothing on and was chased by members of staff who were trying to cover her up... She was laughing her head off and literally giving staff the run-around as customers looked on."

There were some consequences for Lohan's streaking — an appointment she had later in the day for a private consultation with a few luxury brands was cancelled. Which isn't really punishment considering Lohan was clearly interested in the opposite of clothing on this particular occasion.

Lohan has gotten herself in puh-lenty of headlines over the years, but this one just might be her silliest yet. So while we all try to imagine what the scene in Selfridge's must have really been like, if it happened at all, let's give it a play-by-play comparison with the most holy of streaks: Frank the Tank in Old School.

Step One: The Decision to Streak

We don't know if Lindsay had the genius idea to run naked hours, maybe days, before her trip to Selfridge's, or if it was something that happened organically in the moment. We're leaning toward the latter here. But like Frank the Tank, the idea arose and there was no turning back.

Step Two: Getting Naked

Well, she was in a changing room, so this was a pretty natural pre-cursor for the stunt. Frank the Tank on the other hand, well, we all know how that went.

Step Three: Commitment

There's no turning back! Lindsay's alleged laughing told us not only did she want to do it... she LOVED doing it. Go on, Lindsay.

Step Four: The Gathering of Others

It's tough to get other people on board with the whole streaking thing. Frank had a little more luck in this... department.

Step Five: The Come-Down

For Frank, it was being picked up by his wife in a car full of her closest friends. For Lindsay, it was being hurriedly covered-up by Selfridge's staff. The nudity may have been defeated, but the moment lives on!
