What's She Been Up To?

by Lia Beck

Have you been wondering where Kate Bosworth has been? Whenever Blue Crush plays on TV do you go, "Hey! Kate Bosworth was kind of a big thing for a while? Where did she go?" Well, ask questions of your empty living room no longer! Kate Bosworth has made her Instagram account public. Now we can all see what she's been up to for the past... 12 YEARS. Just kidding. Even if you haven't seen Bosworth since Blue Crush came out 12 years ago (I know!), her Instagram doesn't go back that far, so you'll still have to fill in some blanks. Plus, her Instagram isn't even updated that often — she's very selective, but when she does post, she's usually on some super cool looking trip — so to find what she's really up to, I had to do a little more digging.

Bosworth announced that she was making her Instagram public on July 1 with a photo of Marilyn Monroe and the caption, "I've gone public everyone... Welcome to my official @Instagram - come find me x x." That doesn't even make sense. How is your first public photo on a photo sharing app going to be a photo you didn't take? Come on!

As for the photos she did take herself, we get a look at Bosworth's husband, director Michael Polish in a gorgeous kitchen, of course:

Some cool shots of her travels. This one was taken in Osaka:

And this one from somewhere else really beautiful:

And a picture of Bosworth on a giant bed:

She may be small, but that big is seriously gigantic.

As for what Bosworth has been up to career-wise, her Instagram does provide a couple clues. Bosworth is an ambassador for skincare brand SK-II and she posted a photo of a few of the products:

She also uploaded a picture of the script for Homefront in 2012, a film which she starred that was released in 2013:

As for what she has in the works now, according to IMDb, Bosworth is starring in Unconscious directed by Polish and which is currently in post-production. She also has roles in Still Alice and Somnia both due out in 2015. In Still Alice, Bosworth joins Kristen Stewart, Julianne Moore, and Alec Baldwin in a drama about a professor with early onset Alzheimer's disease. Somnia, on the other hand, is a thriller about "an orphaned child whose dreams — and nightmares — manifest physically as he sleeps." Um... I'm not quite sure what that means, but it sounds terrifying!

You see, Kate Bosworth has been up to plenty of things! Getting married, going to Coachella, acting, hanging out in places so gorgeous you didn't think they really exist, promoting a skincare line — she's a busy lady. Just don't expect to see the ins and outs of her entire life on Instagram.
