Liz Lemon is Definitely a Sanderson Sister

by Rachel Semigran

It might be July, but Halloween and Christmas just came early — it’s rumored that Tina Fey is set to produce a sequel to Hocus Pocus and might also star in the film. Commence freak out in 3...2...1. There it is! Have you gathered you and all your ah-sistaaaaahs? Den of Geek reports that Fey’s production company Little Stranger is backing the new film. Though there’s no official casting news, talk is brewing over Fey and Melissa McCarthy. As campy and pitch-perfect as the original Hocus Pocus was, this news has us really, really excited.

The sequel will tell the story of a mother who goes on a (literal) witch hunt after her children go missing while trick-or-treating. The catch here is the mother is also related to the Sanderson sisters from the first film. Could there be dueling families of witches and warlocks? We’re itching to find out.

Though plenty of details are being kept hush-hush, we’ve got our money on Fey playing the manic mom. It makes perfect sense considering we’re pretty sure that Liz Lemon and the Sanderson Sister might actually be the same characters. Don’t believe us? Take a look.

They prefer doing everything at night

They get frustrated by those lesser than them

They're not big on young people

(Unless it’s for abducting.)

They know how to move

They are the masters of facial expressions

They have a few anger issues

But they're all together magical

Here's hoping this Fey, Hocus Pocus rumor is true.
