Would He Hang With Voldemort?

by Christine DiStasio

Has the heir of Slytherin returned to Hogwarts? Jungle Book and Ascension star Idris Elba visited the Warner Bros. Studio in Watford, England on Tuesday and apparently, he'd be friends with Draco Malfoy. The actor and his 12-year-old daughter Isan caught a VIP screening of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and then toured the iconic studio where Elba apparently decided he was a Slytherin. Say it ain't so — Elba donned a Slytherin scarf while he hopped on brooms and caught one of Harry Potter's snitches.

Aside from the fact that Elba's repping the most deplorable house at Hogwarts, the photos from his trip to the Harry Potter Studio Tour are adorable and worthy of your Potter fan jealousy. In case you've forgotten or are not a Potter fan, "There's not a single witch or wizard who went bad who wasn't in Slytherin." At least, that's according to everyone's favorite redhead and Mr. Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley. So, while his daughter seems to have been drawn toward the more lovable and agreeable house at Hogwarts, Elba's chosen the one that most self-respecting Potter fans deign to be Sorted into and the house that launched He Who Must Not Be Named.

How could one of Oscar season's greatest gems want to align himself with the likes of Death Eaters and, even worse, Crabbe and Goyle? I've got a hunch that it's got a lot to do with Elba's passionate, dark, and dreary title character on Luther, because he's clearly a Slytherin. Here's how:

This Draco Malfoy-Worthy Arrogant Moment

I mean, I am a Pureblood, after all.

This Threatening Promise

How very Voldemort of you, Idris.

This Very Snape-Like Moment

Just turn to page 394 and shut up.

This Death Eater-Esque Malicious Smile

The Avada Kedavra is coming.

When He Stared Death In The Face & Liked It

#Voldemort.
