What Are They "Consciously Uncoupling" From Now?

by Jamie Primeau

By now, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin's separation is old news. But it looks like they recently decided to "consciously uncouple" from more than just each other — they've also ditched their strict diets. Chris Martin announced he's no longer a vegetarian and Gwyneth Paltrow taste-tested food trucks, like she hasn't got a care in the world about carbs. Is this the celebrity equivalent of crying over a pint of Ben & Jerry's? Are these new diets a way of coping with the uncoupling?

On her site Goop, Paltrow and her team tested out 40 L.A. food trucks to find the best meals (hello, dream job!). This included a picture of herself biting a (probably veggie) burger with the caption: "That was, in fact, a bad ass burger." Atta girl, Gwyneth! If she wants to enjoy greasy food, she certainly should. Sure, celeb food habits aren't necessarily newsworthy, but it is a big deal that she's strayed from her previously strict diet to eat whatever makes her happy.

Same goes for Martin! Us Weekly reports that BBC Radio host Steve Wright asked the Coldplay singer if he's still a vegetarian and this was his response: "Well, I eat meat. I was vegetarian for quite a long time and then for various reasons I changed. My daughter's vegetarian since she was born, so I keep getting tempted to go back. I don't eat very much meat."

Hmm, are those "various reasons" his separation from Paltrow? Did they push each other to eat super healthy foods and now they're lashing out? Could all the kale chips have caused their unhappiness? Personally, I'd probably be miserable if I was depriving myself of delicious food. Either way, Martin is making his own meat-eating decisions now and follows a very interesting rule:

I felt like you should only eat something that you'd be able to kill... You know, could you kill a fish? I wouldn't like it, but I probably could, so I'll eat the fish. But a giraffe...

Good to know he does have some limits with his diet and won't be eating giraffe anytime soon!
