'Pitch Perfect 2' Releases New Clip to Celebrate Fourth of July & Now We're Even More Excited For the Movie - VIDEO

We still have to wait a year to see Pitch Perfect 2 (SO FAR YET SO CLOSE), but, in the meantime, we can tide ourselves over with the copious amount of behind-the-scenes videos and pictures being released by the cast. We already saw the Barden Bellas practicing singing in Anna Kendrick's awesome rehearsal Instagram snap. But now director Elizabeth Banks is joining in on the fun and, on Thursday, shared an exclusive video of Pitch Perfect 2 stars Skylar Astin and Ben Platt serenading us all with patriotism.

In honor of the July 4 holiday, Banks posted the clip on Facebook so we could see Jesse (Kendrick's love interest, played by Astin) and his friend Benji (Platt) sing an a cappella version of “America the Beautiful.” When you haven't heard them sing in awhile, it's easy to forget that these actors are really very talented. The guys hit all the right notes, even the tenuous high ones. It was also nice to see the actors back in their maroon velvet blazers, reminding us that a cappella competition season will soon be upon us. (Okay, by soon, I mean Summer 2015 when the movie comes out. But still, at least a sequel is happening at all.)

A year is a long time to wait, but if we keep getting sneak peeks like this one, maybe it won't be all that bad. (Hint, hint, cast: Keep releasing videos!) Check out the clip below:
