Shakira May Be Preggo with Baby Numero Dos

by Quinn Keaney

Once upon a time Shakira was just a young up-and-comer — a Latin pop star trying to cross over into English with lyrics like, "Lucky that my breasts are small and humble, so you don't confuse them with mountains" (modern day Shakespeare, amirite?) and abs for days. Over the past decade she's become a full-blown pop superstar, who's churned out hit after hit and collaborated with some of the biggest female names in the music industry, like Rihanna and Queen Bey. According to news outlets in her native Columbia, however, her #1 collaborator at the moment is her partner, Barcelona soccer player stud Gerard Piqué, who made up for his performance on the World Cup field with his performance in the bedroom. That's right people — reportedly, Shakira is pregnant with baby número dos. Are the claims legit, though?

The petite singer, 37, had son Milan with Piqué just over a year ago, so at the rate she's going the couple will have enough players for their own soccer team in no time. Fox News Latino, one of the first outlets to break the news about the brand new bun in Shakira's oven on July 16, reports that the "Hips Don't Lie" singer initially got rumors swirling during her performance at the World Cup final in between the Germany and Argentina showdown. The reason for these rumors? The Barranquilla native wore a relatively conservative outfit, at least by Shakira standards.

Shaki's no stranger to the World Cup, having made appearances twice previously (most notably with her 2010 World Cup promotional song "Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)"), but this time her red-hot number wasn't hot enough, apparently, because multiple sources claimed she was hiding a three-month long pregnan cy .

While everyone's gotten used to Shakira baring skin, and the fact she wore a less revealing costume a little bit fishy, these rumors are still just that, rumors. Neither Shakira nor Piqué's reps have confirmed the pregnancy, and unlike her formal, public baby announcement on her personal website with baby Milan last time around, mum's the word. It's also worth noting what she said in an interview in the April 2014 issue of Latina Magazine:

"If it weren't because of my music projects, I would be pregnant already. I would love to have eight or nine kids with Gerard — my own futbol team."

Well, Shakira, if you're eggo is preggo, the world is most certainly ready. If not, keep swinging those hips and everyone will be just fine.
