'Homeland' Season 4's First Trailer Is Here

by Christine DiStasio

Carrie Mathison is back and you'd better stay the f—k out of her face. On the heels of Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin's Emmy nominations, Showtime's Homeland Season 4 got a new trailer and a premiere date on Friday along with a sinister poster. The fourth season of the CIA drama series that gave us Danes' ugly-crying face will premiere on October 5. And, as expected, it'll be intense. The first trailer for Season 4 is standard Homeland craziness and answers our lingering questions from that gut-wrenching Season 3 finale. [SPOILER ALERT] Mandy Patinkin and his beard are back.

Brody is definitely dead, people. At least, this first trailer seems to suggest so while proclaiming that, "this fall, there's no place like Homeland." Don't you just love a good pun while you're being visually bombarded with riots, gunshots, Carrie taking pills with alcohol, and dead bodies? The trailer premiered on Thursday at the 2014 TCA Press Tour lunch session followed by a video of Danes and Patinkin, in which Saul Berenson himself revealed that Homeland's showrunner, Alex Gansa, "promised only to kill most of your favorite characters this season." Nice, real nice — as if anyone was really over Brody's Season 3 death.

As if Carrie is ever on her best behavior.

Happy hunting.
