These Songs Would Be Aca-Awesome

by Kaitlin Reilly

The Bellas are back! Everyone's favorite a capella girls are headed back to the big screen with Pitch Perfect 2, a sequel to the 2012 musical hit. Pitch Perfect 2 has just wrapped and promises us more Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, and Anna Camp — not to mention plenty of new aca-mazing musical numbers sung by the girls and the rest of the Barden Bellas, which will now include cast newcomer Hailee Steinfeld. This girl group can really sing, and I can't wait to see what tracks these ladies are laying down in the sequel.

Unfortunately, it will be a while before we get to see (or hear) anything from the new sequel. The film will hit theaters in May of 2015, which is a disturbingly long time to wait for fans of the original Pitch Perfect. I want to know the song list for Pitch Perfect 2, oh, I don't know yesterday — can anything really top the epic mashup of "Don't You Forget About Me," "Give Me Everything Tonight" and "Price Tag?" Let's hope that the sequel finds its own aca-awesome mashup that will get stuck in our heads for weeks to come.

While the song list for Pitch Perfect 2 is still under wraps, here are some of the songs that would be perfect for the new film. Let's hope one of these numbers makes it into the new movie.

"Love On Top," Beyonce

Anna Kendrick is already Beyonce-obsessed, just like the rest of us.

"Fancy," Iggy Azalea feat. Charlie XCX

Preferably intercut with a shopping montage.

"Stay The Night," Zedd feat. Hayley Williams

A slowed-down version of "Stay the Night" sung by Anna Kendrick? Pitch perfect.

"Toxic," Britney Spears

Glee did it, and it was awesome. I'm giving this song to The Treblemakers, because sometimes it's good to flip it and reverse it.

"Wild, Wild Love," Pitbull feat. G.R.L.

What would Pitch Perfect 2 be without a Pitbull cover? This would be the perfect song for a collaboration between The Treblemakers and the Bellas... which also needs to happen.

"In Your Eyes," Peter Gabriel

The original Pitch Perfect had "Don't You Forget About Me" from The Breakfast Club, and the sequel needs its very own movie song. Say Anything's "In Your Eyes" is Skylar Astin's song.
