At 2014 Comic-Con, Cate Blanchett, Elle Fanning, and More Get Fun and Colorful With Their Fashion

When you think of all the star-studded red-carpet events that are sure to have fabulous fashion in store, Comic-Con probably isn't one of those. But if the 2014 event has proven anything thus far, it's that it should definitely be on your style radar from now on. With A-listers like Cate Blanchett, Jessica Alba, and the young Elle Fanning in attendance — in addition to the stylish casts of hit shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Game of Thrones — the San Diego leg of the global convention has been packed full of high fashion and designer labels. This past weekend in particular, panel members dressed to impress in a lineup of playful, colorful, and pattern-filled numbers that were perfect for any summer event. Check out nine of the best and brightest look from the weekend at 2014 Comic-Con.

Cate Blanchett

As much as I adore Blanchett’s couture awards show gowns, I’m equally impressed by her ability to pull off casual pieces with panache, including this fun, ’50s diner-esque Fausto Puglisi number.

Elle Fanning

After months of dressing like a Disney princess, Fanning has broken out of her romantic shell, looking absolutely charming in this floral-embellished Christopher Kane mini and a set of yellow-lined eyes.

Jessica Alba

The hues of Alba’s Tanya Taylor top and Zimmermann skirt may not be in-your-face bold, but that stunning skirt and major dose of skin sure are.

Nina Dobrev

It doesn’t get much more season-appropriate than a matching, embroidered blouse-and-shirts combo from Naeem Khan topped off with bright pink heels, am I right?

Nina Dobrev, Part 2

Donning not one, but two statement-making Naeem Khan numbers, The Vampire Diaries actress proved she’s never one to be ignored when it comes to bold fashion.

Angela Bassett

The American Horror Story star was positively glowing in her made-for-summer, striped satin gown and long, sleek locks.

Jennifer Morrison

It may be pretty basic, but there’s no denying that the Once Upon a Time star’s matching floral-print set is nothing short of adorable.

Vera Farmiga

The actress went a more sophisticated route than her fellow stars, but looked gorgeous nevertheless in her embellished and multi-hued Peter Pilotto dress at the Playboy Comic-Con bash.

Anna Camp

Which part of this Milly dress is cuter: The retro-styled bodice, or that amazingly patterned-slash-color-blocked skirt?
