Roitfeld's Next Project Is About...Roitfeld

by Alyssa Shapiro

Carine Roitfeld has been busy, busy. Previously, on keeping up with Carine, the former Vogue Paris EIC left the publication after ten years, and last September, debuted CR Fashion Book — but not before releasing her book, Irreverent, in 2011. Since then she’s been working away on her biannual glossy, and styling things like Home Depot painter jumpsuits into chic, inventive looks. I mean, have you ever?

Well, there’s more: Roitfeld recently released the trailer for the film she’s been working on, about her, of course, that screens this September. Roitfeld’s documentary, titled Mademoiselle C, is about the creation of CR Fashion Book, and clearly, given the title, stars one Mademoiselle Carine Roitfeld.

A fashion pub editor-in-chief announcing the September release date of her documentary — the one that chronicles the making of her fashion magazine. Sound familiar? Vaguely reminds of The September Issue , the documentary about the making of American Vogue ’s biggest-at-the-time issue, helmed by Anna Wintour, and starring creative director Grace Coddington.

Mademoiselle C's trailer gives us an idea of what the film, and Mlle C herself, are all about: Sexy, French chic attitude, making iconic images, with friends like Donatella Versace, Karl Lagerfeld, Riccardo Tisci in tow, and being a grandmother (“Can you eeemagine?”)

Non. But we’re excited to see.
