Christina Aguilera's Baby Summer Rain & 15 More Celeb Kids With Nature-Inspired Names

In case you missed it, Christina Aguilera gave birth to baby girl Summer Rain Rutler on Sunday. You might be wondering if Aguilera was at Burning Man or in a beautiful forrest when she chose the name, and those are totally OK thoughts to have. You should know, though, that celebrities have a long tradition of giving their kids nature-inspired names. Hell, celeb kids with nature names could form a coalition and become a mighty famous mini empire.

Nature baby names are where it's at. Let's go through some other celebrity kids who sound like they might braid each other's hair and frolic in the green grass whilst barefoot and eating freshly picked plums, shall we?

An apple comes from nature! It comes from a tree! I know, I know, all you techies from the modern day think that apples come from Mac. But they came from nature first.

Penelope Cruz's Daughter, Luna

“Luna” means moon in Spanish. It’s also like a Luna bar, a crunchy, natural snack, but I highly doubt that’s what Cruz was going for. The moon, by the way, may not be something you can technically find in nature, ie: on a scavenger hunt in the woods, but it’s naturally occurring. Science!

Frank Zappa's Daughter, Moon Unit

Okay, maybe Moon Units aren’t found in nature, either, but they are found in science. Whatever you measure stuff with on the moon … that’s a moon unit, right?

Busy Philipps's Daughters, Birdie and Cricket

“My children are my backyard.” (Not an actual quote.)

John Mellencamp's Son, Speck Wildhorse

A speck of dirt. Specks. They occur naturally, right? Perhaps this one’s pushing a bit, but, c’mon. Speck Wildhorse is super nature-y.

Jamie Oliver's Daughter, Poppy Honey

“Poppies!” I immediately jump to The Wizard of Oz.

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith's Daughter, Willow

When you hear the word “Willow” do you think of “Whip My Hair” or Grandmother Willow in Pocahontas? Both are acceptable.
