They'll Be Heading Back to Court By Fall

by Nicole Fabian-Weber

The end of the summer is but a stone's throw away and you know what that means, right? It's almost time for Teresa and Joe Giudice's court date. Initially, the Giudices were supposed to appear before a judge in Newark, New Jersey on July 8, but after Joe's father, Frank, passed away, their court date was moved to Sept. 23 so the Real Housewives of New Jersey stars could properly grieve, according to Us Weekly. Even though RHONJ has currently wrapped, Bravo plans on starting up shooting again in a few weeks (rumors say with the addition of Jacqueline Laurita) in order to get as much drama as possible on tape — but, sorry, no cameras are allowed in the courtroom.

Update: On Sept. 5, the Giudices' sentencing was postponed to Oct. 2.

Bravo will reportedly either air footage of the Giudices outside the courtroom as a half-hour tack-on to the season finale, or as its own Watch What Happens Live special with Teresa and Andy Cohen. Teresa and Joe plead guilty in March to failing to pay taxes, conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, and numerous counts of bankruptcy fraud. When they appear in court in a few weeks, they'll learn their fate. Joe is looking at up to 46 months in jail while Teresa could be sentenced up to 27 months. There's also the slim possibility of Joe facing deportation to Italy, despite him having lived in the U.S. since he was one.

Only time will tell what the future holds for the Giudices. Sadly for their daughters, though, it doesn't look good. Hopefully, they're enjoying every moment possible together as a family this summer, before October comes along and brings everyone back to the courtroom.
