RiFF RAFF Insults Sam Smith on Twitter For the Stupidest Reason — PHOTOS
You know, I hate to sound like the oldest, stodgiest person in the world, but sometimes, it's really a shame when adults can't act like adults. On Thursday evening, Katy Perry's new rapper pal, RiFF RAFF, called singer Sam Smith a "chubby little fuck factory" on Twitter. He also remarked that Smith's "face is huge." "Wow," you might be thinking. "What did Smith do to provoke such a passionate outburst?" Well, he cropped RiFF RAFF out of a photo on Instagram. Yeah, I know. The horror.
If you watched the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, you know that Perry took RiFF RAFF as her date. You probably also know that the two were rocking denim from head to toe in tribute to former pop star sweethearts Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. Perry and RiFF RAFF spent their evening lounging around and chatting with celebrities like Smith, Miley Cyrus, and Charli XCX, and at some point, a few pictures were taken. Apparently, RiFF RAFF took great offense to being cropped out of one of these photos.
Now, if RiFF RAFF had taken a few moments to breathe and count to 10, he might've actually noticed that Smith had also posted a different version of the photo in question to Instagram on the night of the VMAs — a version that includes the ridiculous rapper. So, really, there was nothing to be upset about in the first place. Wow.
You can see RiFF RAFF's tweet along with Smith's offending Instagram post below.
Up until this point, the only thing most people knew about RiFF RAFF was that he was rumored to be dating Perry earlier this year. Now, we also know that he's a 32-year-old man who's capable of acting like an immature child. Cool. I suppose there's always the possibility that this is some sort of inside joke between the two men, but given the fact that Smith hasn't responded yet, I kind of doubt it.
Way to be, RiFF RAFF. If this little stunt is indicative of how you normally behave, I certainly hope that Perry knows what she's getting herself into by having you around.
