Milla (and her Baby Bump) Are White Hot in Venice

by Mary Avant

It happens every year: In the days, weeks, and even months leading up to the unofficial end of summer, the debates rage on about whether wearing white after Labor Day is both acceptable and/or fashion savvy. Though some are adamant about answering a resounding "no" to that perennial style question, I don't subscribe to the outdated fashion rule and instead fall soundly in the "yes" camp. (After all, why would I limit my white denim-wearing months to just spring days and summer evenings when it's not mind-meltingly hot outside?)

Fortunately, it appears that I'm not the only one who is an avid and unfaltering fan of fall and winter whites; celebrities are showing their support for the style post-Labor Day, too. And if her most recent look at the 2014 Venice Film Festival in Italy is any indication, newly pregnant actress and model Milla Jovovich is among the neutral hue's biggest and best-styled fans.

Walking the red carpet at the annual film fest for the premiere of her latest film Cymbeline, the brunette beauty and mom-to-be took the term "pregnancy glow" to brand new heights, looking absolutely radiant (and undeniably chic) in her V-neck Saint Laurent mini dress.

With its polished and flattering silhouette, tastefully short hemline, and crisp, clean hue, this dress alone could convince those pesky no-white-after-Labor-Day proponents that they're missing out on some great style opportunities in the fall and winter months.

Pairing the look with a wavy bob, a stained red lip, dazzling gold statement earrings, and a white clutch to top it all off, Jovovich delivered two style punches at once: a great white dress, and some of the cutest maternity style I've ever seen.

And just take a closer look at those shoes:

Pure black-and-white, python perfection.

Now that the model-turned-actress has convinced us all that we shouldn't put away our whites after summer after all, there's only one thing left to do: get started on this roundup of white pieces to shop after Labor Day, of course.
