Alec Baldwin's Baby Is Here, And She's Named...

by Kate Ward

Alec Baldwin is a new father once again. The 55-year-old 30 Rock actor welcomed his first child with wife Hilaria Thomas in New York City. The couple announced the news on Thomas' Twitter account, writing, "We are overjoyed to announce the birth of our daughter Carmen Gabriela. She is absolutely perfect."

The 30 Rock actor and the 28-year-old yoga instructor announced they were expecting a child in March, less than a year after the couple wed in New York City in 2012.

Baldwin, ever the self-deprecating actor, addressed the age gap between the couple on Late Show with David Letterman, calling the experience "thrilling." "Being around a woman when she’s pregnant and I’m older now — quite a bit older, actually — it’s just really … it’s amazing,” he said, joking, “Like my wife, the pregnant woman, the hormonally-charged woman if you will – uh, it’s thrilling. It’s a thrilling thing to observe.”

His new baby comes at an exciting time for the actor — not only has he made gossip headlines for his baby girl, but he's also attracted media chatter. The 30 Rock alum is reportedly getting his own talk show on MSNBC.

Carmen Gabriela isn't Baldwin's first child — the actor has a daughter, 17-year-old Ireland, with his ex-wife, Kim Basinger. Here's hoping Baldwin has since brushed up on his voicemail skills.
