Who Did He Secretly Marry?
Secret marriages appear to be the go-to move for the celebs these days. Academy Award nominee Jeremy Renner is the latest to follow suit. Renner covertly married Canadian model/actress Sonni Pacheco. The news was revealed in an interview with Capitol File magazine. Renner, who has been wearing a wedding ring, was asked straightforwardly if he is married and he simply said "yes" before revealing a bit of information on why he chooses to keep his private life private. Still, you may be asking yourself, who is Sonni Pacheco?
For a bit of background, you may have been surprised to hear news of Renner's marriage because the status of the couple was unclear. Renner and Pacheco have a 17-month-old daughter, Ava, together, but recent reports have said that they were no longer a couple even though they were still living together. Clearly not the case now.
Why all the secrecy? "I have tried to protect my family’s privacy, my wife’s privacy,” Renner stated in the same interview. “Privacy issues are important because I want her to go about her day without being bothered.” Privacy is all well and good, but as a model and actress Pacheco lives a pretty public life too. Without getting too invasive, here's what we know about Sonni Pacheco:
Aspiring Actress
Pacheco played a character also named Sonni in The Wingman. She also appeared in the 2009 straight-to-DVD movie American Pie Presents: The Book of Love, credited with the role titled "Splendid Wet T-Shirt Girl." If you watch the movie trailer, you can spot her at the 1:33 mark in the far right.
Canada, Eh?
Pacheco hails from Pitt Meadows, a small town in British Columbia. She grew up on an animal farm and her first pet was a frog.
Monster Girl
Pacheco landed some low profile modeling gigs, but got a big break from Monster Energy Drinks. She was a Monster Girl, serving as a model and spokesperson for the company.
A Woman of Many Trades
Pacheco used to be a hairstylist. She also dabbled in real estate, selling timeshares for a Mexican resort at age 19, and modeled in Canada before landing her Monster Energy gig.
Love? Mission: Very Possible
Reportedly, Pacheco and Renner met on the set of the 2011 hit Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol in Vancouver, Canada. Pacheco had a role as a stand-in.
