He Has Already Given Great Fatherly Advice

by Allison Piwowarski

When the news broke that Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are expecting their first child on Monday morning, I automatically thought, "Lucky pre-born baby." Not only does this child hit the genetic jackpot — just look at these photos of what the Reynolds/Lively baby could look like — but the baby also is already winning with a great advice giving dad.

There's no doubt that Lively will be a great mom in all things love, boys, fashion, beauty, and blogging — have you been on her website Preserve ? But what kind of father will Reynolds be? Well, if any of these past quotes from his many movies are any clue, he's going to be one of the most inspirational and motivating parents out there. He's basically the Pinterest board of daddies-to-be. Check out some of his best pieces of fatherly advice from his past movies to see what I'm talking about.

Reynolds on dreaming big

"No dream is too big, no dreamer too small." Turbo

When his child is feeling defeated and like a certain task is unattainable — although with Lively and Reynolds as parents, I don't know what that task would be — Reynolds just needs to read off Turbo's motto that you should always dream big Baby Reynolds. Always.

Reynolds on bad days

"Don't hide. Live. Follow the sun. You'll make it to tomorrow." The Croods

When Baby Reynolds has a bad day — because we all do, just ask that Daniel Powter song — Reynolds can tell him/her that there is always a new day tomorrow, and we should always strive for the greatness of what is to come.

Reynolds on fear

"I'll show you that will is stronger than fear." Green Lantern

Fear not baby, your daddy will tell you that perseverance and will always win over anything you could be afraid of.

Reynolds on "don't sweat the small stuff"

"Worrying is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, but it doesn't get you anywhere." Van Wilder

An inspirational Van Wilder quote for the baby. Who thought that Van Wilder, baby, and inspirational would ever be used in the same sentence?
