Channing and Jenna = Most Perfect Couple Ever
As far as I can tell, there's only one downside to celebrity crushes: Eventually, they get married, and not to me. The worst is when they're married to someone who's absolutely perfect for them — what fun is it trying to hate an adorable human? And in the case of Channing Tatum, if he has to be married to anyone, I'm glad it's Jenna Dewan-Tatum. Not only are they super cute together, but they're probably one of the most well-matched Hollywood couples ever.
Not convinced? Here's an example. While most couples might experience a little friction over the idea of Tatum stripping down on camera for the Magic Mike sequel, Tatum and Dewan have awkward situations like those down to a science. When it comes to Tatum's choreographed stripper moves, they all have to be approved by Dewan first before they make it to the big screen. This keeps any possibility for jealousy at bay, and those of us who are unlucky enough not to be married to Tatum still get to enjoy the good stuff in the comfort of our local theater.
And the proof of their power couple status doesn't stop there. Since they first met on the set of Step Up in 2006 — and married three years later in 2009 — Dewan and Tatum have been the perfect relationship role models. Don't believe me? Read on.
They shut down relationship rumors as quickly as they start
Instead of getting pissed that tabloids were spreading rumors that they were headed for a divorce last summer, Tatum and Dewan swiftly put an end to the stories with a classy joke. "'Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum Caught in Three-Way With Sasquatch in 7-11 Bathroom' would be a more accurate headline for Star News' cover," they said in a statement. Well played.
They reenacted their Step Up moves at a club in Miami
Since the movie was the reason they met, this only seems appropriate. I have searched high and low and am unable to unearth a video of what was obviously a really epic moment, but these pictures are better than nothing.
They schedule their projects so they never spend much time apart
With careers like Dewan and Tatum's, it'd be easy for them to live on two different sides of the country... but instead, they choose to stay together, for themselves and for their daughter, Everly. They make sure there's never too much overlap and that the locations are close by so "we can be with each other as much as possible."
"We’re very gypsy-like and we’re always on the move, but we try to keep certain things a routine no matter where we are," Dewan told Dujour. "What I’m learning is: That’s our life.”
They have a special trick that keeps them on the same relationship wavelength
Like many couples, Dewan and Tatum have their rough patches. No relationship is perfect, but these two have figured out the best way to stay in check with each other, even when things might not be at their peak... like this nifty piece of advice Tatum shared with Elle:
"Jenna and I have a trick we use to check in with each other. We say, 'On a scale of one to 10, how much do you love me right now?' It’s not as romantic as you think. Sometimes it’s like, 'I love you at a six right now. I have an issue, and you asked. So now I’m going to tell you….'"
Tatum, I love you at a 10 at all times... but I'm willing to share.
