They may be polarizing figures, but Kim Kardasian and Kanye West are definitely in love with love and each other (...and themselves). Personally, I am very pro Kimye. I would love to have someone obsess over me the way Kanye West worships Kim Kardashian. Hate on me if you will for that sentiment, but I am at a point in my life where all of my friends are getting engaged and I am just texting men who are emotionally deficient. The intensity of the Kimye romance gives me something to hope for. Think it sounds crazy? Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have some great quotes about love which serve as proof!
Don't get me wrong, Kim and Kanye are definitely an ostentatious couple, but the material matters do not take away from the love that they have for each other. As a loyal watcher of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the two-part episode where West proposes to Kardashian is considered to be a classic in my eyes. I was near tears when I watched it. This magical moment happened a year ago on Oct. 21, 2013 — Kim's 33rd birthday. Since then, they've gone on to get married, and have never been afraid to talk about being in love.
"I have to be in a relationship in order to be intimate. I’m not the one-night-stand kind of girl. Despite the rumors." Kardashian stated in a 2007 interview with Complex. Even at the beginning of her fame, she was a romantic at heart who did not want to settle.
Nervous about the Nuptials
"I was talking to a cousin, I said, 'What do you think she’s gonna say?'" West said discussing pre-proposal nerves during an interview with Ryan Seacrest. It's refreshing to see that even someone as confident as Kanye West can get a little anxious about love.
Loving Yourself First
"There was a time in my life where all I wanted was a relationship, and I thought that was the most important thing," said a then-single Kardashian opening up to People magazine in 2010 about the importance of working on herself before diving into a relationship.
Waiting for the Right Timing
"I'm not arrogant about love and feelings at all... I knew I wanted her to be my girl for a long time," Kanye West talking about how he loved Kim from afar for years before they got together.
Loving Someone as... Famous as Yourself
"It's very comforting to have someone that knows everything about you, that respects you, understands, has gone through the similar things," Kim Kardashian said in an interview with Oprah. Maybe Kardashian's other romances did not work out because they were not on her level of super-stardom like West is. There must be unique challenges with that level of fame that only the two of them understand.
The Importance of Support
"Michelle Obama cannot Instagram a [bikini] pic like what my girl Instagrammed the other day," Kanye West on how influential Kim Kardashian is to the world. Whether you agree with this comparison or not, there is no one who can say that he does not support his wife.
Searching for Soulmates
"I think you have different soul mates throughout your life, that your soul needs different things at different times. I do believe in love. I will always believe in love, but my idea has changed from what I've always thought," Kim Kardashian reflected in a 2012 Cosmopolitan UK interview after her split from Kris Humphries and at the beginning of the Kimye romance rumors. It looks like timing is key for this couple who have been in each other's lives for many years while they were both in other relationships.
"Our love story's a love story for the ages. I felt like when we first got together, it was like a Romeo and Juliet kinda thing where it's like she's a reality star and I'm a rapper..." Kanye West said in a radio interview with Angie Martinez defending his relationship against its many critics.
Love them or hate them, these two seem to really love each other, and I don't think it's is a topic of conversation that's going to fade away for either of them any time soon.
