Matt Bomer Opens Up About That '50 Shades' Casting

by Lindsay Mannering

Aw, you guysss. Matt Bomer thinks you're really sweet for starting that petition on Change.org, but you can stop now with the "We Want Matt Bomer in Fifty Shades of Grey!" stuff. Charlie Humman has signed on the dotted line, and there's nothing to be done about it. In a recent interview, Matt Bomer spoke about the Fifty Shades casting and it sounds as if, unlike you, he's over it.

Bomer told Entertainment Tonight:

I’m so grateful for the fans and touched. I’m looking forward to seeing the movie with Charlie and Dakota.

It's not that he's unappreciative that you all think so highly of him, but, like, he's got more important things to do, like star in White Collar, and not ruin his career playing a BDSM megalomanic in the movie version of E.L. James' impossibly popular novel. Time to pack up your clipboards, your highlighted road map to producer Dana Brunetti's home, and your Matt for Christian Grey! pins — this ship has sailed.

Now, if only Ryan Gosling would speak up about his intentional lack of involvement in the Fifty Shades project. That's a quote we're just dying to hear. It'd probably just be the sound of his beautiful, gorgeous eye rolls.
