J. Law's Pantsuit Is Anything But Basic

by Sienna Fantozzi

This is how Jennifer Lawrence stands out in a crowd. At Sunday's first official photocall for Mockingjay in London, leading ladies Elizabeth Banks, Natalie Dormer, and Julianne Moore turned up wearing bright patterned dresses. Statement making. Head-turning. But not J-Law. The film's star posed in a basic white Public School pantsuit. Right now, I couldn't love her more.

A pantsuit can be simple — chic, yes — but simple, and sometimes bordering on boring. But in this case? It's anything but. While her co-stars were clad in feminine frocks by Dries Van Noten and Alexander McQueen, Lawrence stood as the only one not wearing a dress, seeming to say — I don't need all of that to look like this. Besides, since she stunned in a Dior dress for the Mockingjay London premiere, it's nice to see her wear pants and give us some variety.

All the ladies look lovely (I particularly love Natalie Dormer's poofed pony), but Jen's simple, laid-back approach to getting dressed up is just one of the reasons we've come to adore her so much. She's relatable, she's easy, and she really doesn't need to try all that hard to look absolutely killer. And let's also give a little shoutout to her wavy bob and striking lariat necklace.
