11 Reasons Why J. Law Would've Owned Twitter

by Caitlyn Callegari

Jennifer Lawrence, we hardly knew ye. Well, that's a bit dramatic because she didn't exactly go anywhere. But, it's warranted because she's not coming anywhere, either. And by "anywhere" I mean the online social media platform that enables the entire world to somehow weirdly coexist. Seriously, everyone: politicians, celebrities, laymen, and awful, mean trolls alike. You know what I'm talking about guys, it's the Twitter. Jennifer Lawrence vowed that she'd never get Twitter... ever. And it just all seems so final! She also said she wouldn't get a Facebook or Instagram either. Though the Facebook thing is hardly a loss because everyone knows moms have taken it over and it's gone to complete ruin. Besides, I'm not sure even I, a seasoned social media user, feel comfortable on any sort of platform that encourages someone to, "Repost if you think your son is handsome!"

Honestly though, our friend Jen (yes, that's right) has good reason to not want to join social media. She told Nick Grimshaw of BBC Radio 1, "It’s because the Internet has scorned me so much that I feel like it’s that girl in high school that I’m like, 'Oh you want to talk about her? Yeah I’ll do that!' Take my hoops off, I’m ready to go."

While I totally understand Lawrence's fear and her reasoning, she doesn't seem to understand that she'd be the best person to ever grace Twitter. Like Chrissy Teigen type good. And here's why:

HER IMPECCABLE COMEDIC TIMING

The beer would be my decision as well. Just for the record.

HER RETWEET-ABILITY

Where IS the pizza, ya know?

SHE'S A TOTAL FANGIRL

And Twitter is where fangirls go to thrive.

HER QUICK WITTED 140 OR LESS CHARACTER QUIPS

Instant shutdown.

HER UNABASHED HONESTY

Is it TMI if it's true?

SHE'D BE DAMN GOOD AT HASHTAGS

That's the best damn couple name I've ever heard and it should be trending (if it hasn't already?)

SHE HAS WISDOM FOR YOUNGER FANS

It'd be wrong to give them false hope.

GIFS, DUH

I think the concept of GIFs might have been created with her in mind.

SHE'S SERIOUS WHEN THE SITUATION CALLS FOR IT

And Twitter could definitely use a lot more of this type of thinking.

SHE'S A WEALTH OF POP CULTURE REFERENCES

Mean Girls and First Wives Club. She's like a dream.

HER WIDE APPEAL TO NEARLY ALL MILLENNIALS

Us too, J Law. Us too.
