Teresa Says an Emotional Goodbye to 'RHONJ'
If you're a Real Housewives of New Jersey fan, then your heart must have stopped when Teresa Giudice told Andy that she's leaving RHONJ . At the very end of the episode, when Andy asked the ladies for what life lesson they'd learned, Teresa apologized to her fans for letting them down, and said "through all this, I'm going to make myself a better person." She said she regretted appearing on the show 80% (or may have meant 20%, diction still isn't her strongest suit), but her biggest priority is figuring out a way to visit her daughters. And then, that big soundbite: "This is probably going to be my last reunion." The last few minutes were devoted to reliving Teresa's biggest moments on the show, from giving birth to Audriana, to the christening, to the table flip. Her biggest promise? That even though her friendship with Jacqueline ended, that she'll never lose her connection with Dina.
There's some debate as to whether or not Giudice will actually be leaving the show permanently, but for now it looks like she'll at least have to take a 15 month break to serve time, which knocks her out for Season 7 and maybe even Season 8. She invited the ladies and Andy to come visit her while she's "away," but I don't know if the Bravo cameras will be invited. Teresa has changed a lot over the past six seasons. She seems to be a lot less materialistic, now spends a lot more on camera time with her daughters, and her relationship with Joe, while still imperfect, does seem more affectionate. And she's learned a lot about anger management.
She never lost her cool this year, even when dealing with Jim Marchese, only replying with a flippant "If I need someone to dance on my grave, I know who to call." Maybe it really is time for Teresa to move on. Because the only lady she's really friends with anymore is Dina, who's also on her way out, and she doesn't really seem invested in dealing with TereSSa or getting her forgiveness.
TereSSa kept saying "You did, you did, you did" to Teresa G., even though it wasn't very clear what she was saying Tre did. And accusing her of "not bringing anything to the show?" Girl, be real: Teresa Giudice singlehandedly made The Real Housewives of New Jersey into a phenomenon, and Dina was right there alongside her at that dinner party. And while there's no promise that this will be their last appearance, both will be missed… if only because without them, the rest of the ladies will never create such classic moments.
