Grumpy Cat is going from internet meme sensation to Lifetime TV movie star. Yup, you read that correctly and I promise that's not an error. The moody-looking kitty that lauched books, coffee, and more is the headliner of her very own Lifetime holiday movie, Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever , premiering on Saturday night. Voiced by Parks and Recreation star Aubrey Plaza, Grumpy Cat will finally reveal her inner most thoughts to us all — and a little girl named Chrystal (played by Megan Charpentier). Together, they form an unlikely friendship on a mission to stop the dognapping of an exotic canine and save the mall pet store Grumpy calls home. And you'll be able to watch this all go down on Lifetime through TV, the internet, and its app.
Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever is one of many attention-receiving Lifetime movies this year. Earlier this fall, the cable network premiered three biopics: The Unauthorized Saved By The Bell Story, The Brittany Murphy Story, and Aaliyah: Princess of R&B. However, Grumpy Cat can't talk in real life to vocalize how she feels about this movie about her feline life — or can she? As you ponder that, here are the ways you can make Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever part of your holiday movie lineup.
Watch It As It Airs on Lifetime
Grumpy Cat will make her television movie debut on Saturday night at 8 p.m. on Lifetime. But that won't be the only time you can catch the classic-Christmas-movie-to-be. Lifetime will air three encores of the film throughout the late night, starting at 10 p.m. on Saturday.
In true holiday movie fashion, I'm sure the network will also continue to show Grumpy Cat's grumpy mug throughout December, so be sure to check Lifetime's schedule to see when you can see the feline meme star on TV again and again.
Stream It on Lifetime's Website & App
Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever hasn't even aired yet, but Lifetime's website is ready — the movie is already listed on the network's "Watch Online" section. I'm going to assume that means it's all set to put the TV film online for mass internet consumption — after all, Grumpy Cat's fame was born on the internet.
The movie will also probably be available on Lifetime's mobile app, so you can watch on the app-capable device of your choosing. Beware: Both options may require a cable or satellite provider login in order to view for the first few weeks. Darn it.
On Demand or DVR It
If you've still got a cable or satellite service and it comes with a DVR, well, I shouldn't have to tell you this, but I will anyway — set your DVRs to Grumpy so you can watch it all December long. Most providers also come with On Demand service on your TV and on their respective websites, so you should also check there if you can easily watch Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever.
