Beau Garrett Goes Hippie on 'Girlfriends' Guide'
She's tall and beautifully blonde, and now she'll be attempting to help her friend Abby get back into the single world: Model and actress Beau Garrett plays Phoebe in Bravo's Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce. Garrett's character is a former model and current entrepreneur who, from the Girlfriends' Guide previews of, is probably Abby's wilder and more adventurous friend. According to her Bravo bio, Garrett was born and raised in California and when she was 14 years old she was discovered at a shopping mall (so not fair— I lived at the mall as a tween). She began her career as a fashion model, which led her into the acting world.
Before we get to her credits, here's what you need to know about Girlfriends Guide to Divorce: Bravo's new scripted series will follow Abby McCarthy, a woman who famously writes self-help books about marriage and family for a living who reveals to everyone that her marriage is coming to an end. She ends up turning to her friends Lyla and Phoebe for help since they are both divorcees. Although we don’t know much about Phoebe's character, we do know that her relationship with her ex-husband is, well, interesting.
So what else have we seen Garrett in?
Tron: Legacy
Aside from her modeling, Garrett is probably most well known for her role as Gem, a program in the world of Tron. She gets Garrett Hedlund ready in his Tron gear. Basically, she gets to touch Garrett Hedlund. Jealous.
Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior
It only lasted a season, but Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce isn’t the first time Garrett and Janeane Garofalo have co-starred together. The spin-off of Criminal Minds aired for 13 episodes and starred both of them as FBI agents in the behavioral analysis unit.
Made of Honor
Even though she’s barely in the movie, she still gets one-on-one time with McDreamy, so it’s worth mentioning. Plus, who doesn’t love a good rom-com? Garrett's Gloria gives her number to Patrick Dempsey on a coffee sleeve, because she’s clever and it was 2008.
Fantastic 4: Rise of The Silver Surfer
Captain Raye from the Fantastic Four comic book series was major character for awhile, before she was killed. Garrett brought Raye to life in the Rise of The Silver Surfer, and even though she’s a small character in the movie, in the comic books she dates Chris Evans aka the Human Torch. Yes, I am jealous, because Chris Evans is perfect.
Freelancers
A movie quietly came out in 2012 called Freelancers (NSFW clip above), that I am pretty sure no one saw, but it stars 50 Cent, Robert De Niro, Forest Whitaker, and Garrett. The movie is a classic bad cop/good cop movie, and De Niro plays the bad guy. I’m assuming you know that it didn’t get good reviews.
Guest Star Extraordinaire
Every up-and-coming actress gets recognized for their random guest star appearances on famous shows. Beau Garrett is no different. She has been on Entourage, House M.D, CSI: NY and last year played Charlie Darling on an episode of Glee.
Turista
No actor credits would be complete without the poorly filmed horror flick, which is of course no fault of Garrett's. However, adding to her list of hot guy costars, she did get to star alongside Josh Duhamel in this movie. So, she wins.
