Everything You Wanna Know About Britney's Guy

Dating one of the most famous pop stars in the world is no easy feat, but Charlie Ebersol credits his somewhat turbulent past in preparing him to deal with dating Britney Spears and all of the harsh and negative attention that it entails. It is unfortunate that someone needs to mentally prepare to date Spears, but such is the reality of her frantic life in the media, and if anyone is currently worthy of squiring our pop princess around town, I'd say Ebersol is quite the qualified candidate.

Just last month, when word got out of Spears dating a new man after dumping her boyfriend of two years, David Lucado, I went on a hunt to find out more about Charlie Ebersol, the guy who was stealing her heart. After all, this is a very personal matter for most of us late-'90s babies, because if Britney is happy, we are all happy.

As it turns out, Ebersol has lived a life that has often paralleled the crazy experience of being a pop star. Ebersol was born into a media-mogul family and has dealt with plenty of hardships in the public eye, which he says helped him be ready to jump into a relationship with THE Britney Spears. He told People ,

My personal life is my personal life, but I will say this: If I had not gone through what I've gone through, I would not have been prepared to be in a relationship of any kind, much less in one with someone like Britney, who has the enormous heart that she does.... I can't imagine. Everybody deserves to be loved. My hope is that lesson shines forth in this documentary, and in life.

The documentary Ebersol is talking about is the NFL Characters Unite documentary, which is produced by his entertainment business, The Company. The documentary is an inspiring look at various NFL stars who share deeply personal stories of overcoming prejudice, bullying, and discrimination, with the end goal of being able to help and support young people who are facing those same challenges. Now, how's that for a good guy?

Growing up in the spotlight, Spears has endured unimaginable bullying since she was in her teens, with people judging everything from her skirt length to her hair styles to who she dated. With Ebersol sharing in similar experiences, this could be just the perfect partner to support her and understand the heartache that comes with being a successful young person, which shouldn't be something to be ashamed of. He explained:

I was bullied very badly in high school and I was a very successful kid. I sold my first company at a young age. There was a lot of misplaced rage in high school towards me. My brothers and sisters identified it as bullying, but I didn't at the time. What was amazing to me was I started feeling I wasn't worthy of being loved.... I ended up blocking this from my memory.

It seems like Ebersol has taken these setbacks and heartaches, including the devastating plane crash that he survived 10 years ago, as fuel to continue spreading positive and inspiring energy. Since the loss of his younger brother in the crash, Ebersol said the direction of his life quickly changed, and he vowed to only to follow those things that he loved. He continues to People,

The mission of my company is to bring three things to the world through entertainment: joy, happiness, and change. We must believe our precious time is being used to make a product worth more than anything else we could be doing. I had everything, but I had to work hard to find love.

Well, good things come to those who wait, and I think Britney is worth it.
