Bruce Jenner is Battling Cancer

Bruce Jenner, usually the quiter one in his family, has shared some very personal news. The former Olympian told E! News that he is battling skin cancer, and has already begun treating it. The cancer is basal cell carcinoma, and Jenner explained that he has actually been dealing with the disease for years.

Last week, the 63-year-old had surgery to remove cancerous tissue from his nose, following another surgery earlier this year that removed cancer from his cheek. On Tuesday, Jenner was seen with a bandage on his nose, as he is still recovering from the surgery.

While a source close to Jenner and his family told E! that he has an excellent prognosis, Jenner thanked fans for their support.

I have been struggling with this for several years and appreciate all of the support and prayers while I continue to fight the battle against skin cancer.

Jenner is also using his own experience to encourage others to be careful when in the sun.

This has taught me to be extra vigilant when out in the sun and I encourage others to get regular checkups and always wear sunscreen.

We wish Jenner well as he continues his treatment. Hopefully he's able to find support from his family, especially Scott Disick, who will definitely be able to get his mind off things.
