Sam Rullo

Sam is the Director of Editorial Operations at BDG, a role she has held since January 2022. She does a little bit of everything for all of BDG's brands, particularly project management of issues and photo shoots, training on editorial standards and best practices, and collaboration with other departments on behalf of Editorial. In a given week, she may work with the Sales and Marketing teams to come up with new content ideas, the Business Development team to explore a new partnership, or Product and Engineering to test a new CMS feature. She also leads the transitions of any newly acquired brands into BDG, as well as relaunches of existing sites, and any other projects involving Editorial that may arise.

Sam has been with BDG since she graduated from NYU with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Cinema Studies in 2014 (and was an entertainment intern before that). She spent three years as the TV Editor of Bustle, writing and editing content about readers' favorite series and running live coverage of major episodes and events. She then moved into Editorial Operations with BDG's acquisition of Elite Daily, training editorial staff on various processes and guidelines, and embedding with the team to get the site fully relaunched. She's still a TV editor at heart and loves nothing more than talking about her latest TV obsessions, especially if they involve murder, cults, or Milo Ventimiglia.

When she's not doing any of the above, she's usually watching good-bad movies, listening to podcasts about said movies, defending Kim Kardashian's business acumen to anyone who will listen, or walking her adorable pitbull, Ransom, through Hoboken.
