Ludacris Is a Lucky Man

by Daniela Cabrera

Welp, it seems like the days of a "very long engagement" are long gone in 2015. On Jan. 5, Benji Madden and Cameron Diaz tied the knot about a month after getting engaged, and on Jan. 6 news broke that Ludacris married his longtime girlfriend Eudoxie Mbouguiengue only TWO weeks after getting engaged over Christmas. As if that didn't sound crazy enough, some outlets are reporting that Luda and his lady actually got married on the same day he proposed, with sources saying they returned home after the engagement to a wedding party! Hey, when you know what you want, why wait? Obviously, most headlines have been focusing on Ludacris marrying his girlfriend, but who is Eudoxie Mbouguiengue? Who is the beautiful woman that has been by the rappers side since 2008?

I had never really followed Ludacris' love life because, let's be real, rappers aren't exactly known to stick around with long-term loves, but I was pleasantly surprised as I learned more about Mbouguiengue. From the adorable Instagram photos Ludacris posted in the past two weeks, it was obvious that this was a man who was very in love and with good reason. Not only is Mbouguiengue a gorgeous woman on the outside, but she seems to have some brains and a big heart, and has devoted her life to honorable causes. She also goes by two names: I've seen her written about as Eudoxie Mbouguiengue and Eudoxie Agnan, both stemming from her roots in Gabon, Africa.

From what I've found, Mbouguiengue was born in Gabon, Africa, a French speaking country in West Central Africa. When she was still a young girl, she was brought over to live in the United States and according to the site, Sandra Rose, she eventually became a pre-med student at University of Miami around the time that she met Ludacris. I've seen some other mentions of her education at UM on other sites, but nothing has been confirmed. Regardless of whether she was a medical student or not, Mbouguiengue decided to devote her life to an inspiring non-profit, Unspoken Angels.

As a victim of sexual, mental, and verbal abuse herself since she was a child, Mbouguiengue aspired to create an organization which would help young women overcome their tormented pasts and move forward as strong individuals. She shares in their mission statement:

There are few things of more importance to me than to reach back to young ladies who have experienced abuses and be able to help them deal with the hurt, betrayal and feelings of inadequacy that I too have suffered in association with those abuses. This non-profit agency is a vehicle to let young ladies know they are not alone and there is life after abuse.

Sounds like Ludacris has got very lucky and snagged himself the perfect package: intelligent, kind, socially aware AND beautiful! Congrats to the happy couple!
