'The Big Bang Theory' Won Favorite TV Show?

by Nicole Pomarico

The Golden Globes might not be on 'til Sunday, but Wednesday night's People's Choice Awards are an awesome warm-up for this weekend's bigger event — and honestly, who's going to say no to two red carpets in the space of one week? Like any mega-fan, the TV categories are always my favorite, and this year's Favorite TV Show category is super competitive. The nominees include The Big Bang Theory, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, NCIS, and Once Upon a Time, and it was hard to predict who would win. If you asked me ahead of time, I'd have said it was a toss up between The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, since both shows have super passionate fan bases, but now we know the actual winner is neither of those shows. Our 2015 Favorite TV Show at the People's Choice Awards? The Big Bang Theory.

Sidenote: Rainn Wilson presenting this category made me miss The Office even more than I already do. Dwight Schrute, come back into my life!

But anyway, back to the matter at hand. The Big Bang Theory managed to snag the win for Favorite TV Show, which I find really surprising — and I swear, my hard feelings against Kaley Cuoco and her anti-feminist statements have nothing to do with that opinion. Is anyone actually still watching The Big Bang Theory, much less spending time trying to help it win fan-voted awards? And you're trying to tell me the rabid, obsessive Game of Thrones fan base allowed this to happen?

To its credit, though, over the lifetime of the show, The Big Bang Theory has been extremely popular, and the cast seemed incredibly gracious accepting the last award of the night. You may not have been my pick, but congrats, guys!
