Watch 16-Year-Old Emma Stone Sing Meredith Brooks

by Kadeen Griffiths

Is there anyone out there who is somehow, impossibly, still believing that first-time Oscar nominee Emma Stone isn't a woman of flawless talent and grace? Ever since she had her break out role in Easy A, and, like, started dating Amazing Spider-Man co-star Andrew Garfield, Stone has been in the public eye in a pretty big way for such a notoriously private woman. As with most big stars, it turns out that her talent did not sprout suddenly from her body like water from a newly-built fountain. It turns out, Stone has been very talented for very many years prior to her big break. For proof, look no further than this video PEOPLE dug up of 16 year old Stone singing "Bitch" by Meredith Brooks, a 30 second burst of unfiltered awesomeness that will make you fall in love with her all over again.

The clip takes place during 2004's In Search of the New Partridge Family, which "Emily" Stone was participating in so she could land the role of Laurie Partridge in a reboot of the classic show. The reboot was ultimately never picked up, but it gave us the opportunity to watch The Artist Formerly Known as Emily throw herself into that cover of "Bitch" in the exact same way Stone would later throw herself into her interviews, into her movie roles, into her special brand of comedy that is as hilarious as it is unique.

And, as the world would later learn from Easy A, Stone is a phenomenal singer. Now that she's been nominated for an Oscar, is it only a matter of time before she adds a Grammy to her list and starts the journey to becoming an EGOT actress? Only time will tell. Check out the video below.
