Meryl Streep Goes Classic In All Black For The 2015 SAG Awards, Proves That A LBD Can Be Perfection

Meryl Streep may play a witch mother experiencing an epically bad hair day in Into The Woods , but we all know in real life, she is the queen of everything forever and always. The end. And her hair is always perfectly coiffed, too. Streep is true Hollywood glamour at its finest and proof that women only get better with age. Showing entertainment’s baby boomers how it’s done, the iconic nominee was effortlessly classic on the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet in a perfect little black dress.

Streep’s Nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role marks the sixteenth time she has received a nod from the guild, breaking her own record for most SAG film nominations. Seriously all hail the legend that is Meryl Streep. Does it even count as an awards show if she isn’t there? Luckily, she was in attendance tonight and we were able to catch a glimpse of the arrival before she made her way inside to join her fellow nominees. While she didn't dawdle on the carpet or give any interviews, one shot of her was all it took to realize she was just as timeless and chic as we thought she would be. As for her hair, like I said, impeccably coiffed as always in a low wrapped pony tail, an up-do we also saw on Emma Stone and Reese Witherspoon. A woman who can both steel the screen as the most unfortunate looking cast member and own the carpet with the shortest of appearances — how do mere mortals compete with that?

There is simply no Hollywood without Meryl Streep. She has my vote for best LBD and certainly wins my ballot for her incredible transformation and embodiment of The Witch in Into The Woods. And if she ran for president I would vote for her then, too — anxiously awaiting both her political agenda and White House wardrobe. Long live the queen.
