Is Ryan's Baby Name "Copernicus"?

If anyone can avoid a question extremely well, it's Mr. Ryan Reynolds. While appearing on The Late Show With David Letterman, Ryan Reynolds gave details about his daughter's name. Before you get too excited, we still have no idea what her name is, but Reynolds believes it will come out sooner rather than later. Letterman went above and beyond to figure out what exactly Blake Lively and Reynolds named their baby, but he did not break the actor. However, Reynolds did assure Letterman that they do have a name.

(Update: On Friday, March 20, Ryan Reynolds confirmed his daughter's name is James Reynolds in an interview with Today.)

He said:

We definitely [have a name]. I threw out the idea of just never naming the kid to be totally original, but we have a name. I just don't want to say it in, like, a media context. I tell everyone who I meet, so it'll come out.

After Letterman went through an entire list of names and questions (thank you for trying!), Reynolds joked:

I should've worn my cup. I didn't know I was gonna get busted this hard!

With that said, here's what we know, so far, about their child's name:

1. She is not named Violet, which Reynolds revealed before chatting with Letterman.

2. She is not named Emma, Olivia, Eva, Sophia, Isabella, Ruth, Madison, Mary, Sarah, Abigail, or Copernicus.

3. She is not named after Lively's mother, aka Elaine.

4. It is a family name.

5. She has a first name and a middle name.

6. It "kind of" is a biblical name.

Well, that really narrows it down, right? Not really, but at least we can cross some names off of our list. Also, for those who have spoken with Reynolds about his child, maybe you could send out a tweet, use Morse Code, put an ad in the newspaper, or something to alert the masses of what his daughter's name is. I think we'd all greatly appreciate it.

Until then, I'll leave you with this all-too-sweet quote from Reynolds about his wife and child:

It's amazing. I'm not one for vomiting declarations of sentiment out across the airwaves, but when we had that baby, I fell more in love with my wife than I'd ever been in my entire life. I couldn't even believe it.
