Looks of Anastasia Steele: Get 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' Makeup From Beginning To End
When one goes through mental and emotional transformations, more often than not, her physical appearance changes to match that of her new look on life. We see this with the breakup/marriage/mommy haircut all the time. Take Anastasia Steele from Fifty Shades of Grey. It's an understatement to say her transformation from a shy virgin to a BDSM veteran is quite the shift and she definitely expressed her newfound sexuality with bolder, sexier makeup. Fifty Shades of Grey makeup is part innocence, part smoldering.
In the beginning of the film, Anastasia Steele is an awkward, innocent college girl (with the looks to match). Her makeup is minimal (if she's even wearing any) and she blushes easily. Of course, she's what Christian Grey believes to be a natural beauty, but a little enhancement never hurt. Throughout the course of their, ahem, relationship, Ana is able to explore and understand herself. She gains experience and some confidence, and these changes can be reflected in makeup.
The pre-Christian Grey Ana has soft and feminine features. However, as she becomes stronger, so does her makeup. Here's how to achieve the beauty transformation that mirrors Ana's growth.
With this look, it's all about glowing skin and pink cheeks. Start with a tinted moisturizer to even out skin tone. Then go in with a light pink blush on the apples of the cheeks. Finish off the skin by highlighting the cheekbones, down the nose, the cupid's bow, and right above the eyebrows.
For the eyes, keep it neutral with just a hint of definition. That means a light-brown shadow swept through the crease, smudged gray liner on the top lash-line, and lengthening mascara on the top lashes. And for brows, lightly fill them in with a pencil for a soft-yet-full effect.

And of course, to tie the look together, choose a soft shimmering pink for the lips.
For this bolder look, start by evening the skin with a medium-to-full coverage foundation in a matte or demi-matte finish. To alleviate some of the roundness of the face that can read "young," sharpen the features by carving out cheekbones with a contouring powder. The temples and jawline can also be shaded to direct attention to the center of the face. Finish the face with a neutral shade of blush on the apples of the cheeks. No coy flushes here.

Everything is stronger and more defined with the "experienced Ana's" eye look. (And what would it be if not a gray smokey eye?) Use a gray eyeliner or cream shadow as a base all over the lids as well as in the waterline. Sweep a medium-gray shadow in the crease, and pat a shimmering dark gray onto the lids. Finish the eyes with a silver shadow on the inner-corners and by applying mascara and false lashes. For brows, go bold by filling them in with a powder and clearly defining their shape.
And because nothing quite shows confidence like a red lip, line and fill in the lips with a red liner and then top it off with your favorite red lipstick.
Eat your heart out, Christian Grey.
