Take a Dip with This NYFW False Eyelash Trend

by Jamie Cuccinelli

As NYFW marches on, as do the innovative beauty looks. The makeup artists behind the fall 2015 shows have been reinventing everything from the goth girl to the fresh face. Last week, we even saw a sprinkling of violet caviar manicure beads around the eyes of Ohne Titel's models. But dainty and delicate makeup has got to be my favorite look yet. Carolina Herrera put a unique spin on the ethereal trend with models that looked like water fairies, thanks to the water droplets on their false eyelashes.

Diane Kendal, the makeup artist behind Herrera's show, painted the models' pouts with a rich raspberry glaze, dusted their skin with luminous, highlighting powder, and then applied fake eyelashes that were decorated with silver silicon beads designed to look like tiny water droplets. The result? Models who look like they just emerged from a dip in the ocean/pool/lake/whatever body of water fairy-mermaid hybrids prefer.

While NYC is currently an Arctic tundra and Central Park's lake is frozen over, this just reminds us that spring and summer are on their way. Although this is technically a look for fall, there's something about moist lashes that make me think of splashing around in the warm weather.

For now, take a dip in this trend with MAC’s Retro Matte Liquid Lip Colour in Oh, Lady (the same color used by Kendal in the show) and these lush, glittered false eyelashes from Ardell.
