Kelly Just Made A Major Threat

by Sienna Fantozzi

UPDATE: Giuliana Rancic has broken her silence and spoken out on air about her controversial comments regarding Zendaya's hair at the Oscars. On Tuesday night's episode of E! News, Rancic addressed her comments, claiming that she didn't intend to hurt anybody and was only poking fun in good spirit. The host issued a public apology to Zendaya as well as anyone else hurt and affected by her comments. Giuliana claims the situation has been a learning experience for her, and that she realized she needs to be more aware of stereotypes so as not to perpetuate them.

This situation just keeps snowballing. Kelly Osbourne is threatening to quit Fashion Police over the Zendaya Oscars backlash. It's drastic, but at least she's willing to take a stand.

As most of you know by now, Kelly's Fashion Police co-host, Giuliana Rancic, made offensive comments about Zendaya's hair at the Academy Awards while critiquing her red carpet look, saying that her dreadlocks “smell like patchouli oil… or maybe weed." Not at all racist or anything. You know, all in the name of Fashion Police banter...

Zendaya wrote a long response to the inappropriate and offensive comments, to which Rancic issued a pretty weak, short and sweet Twitter apology, and not everyone was satisfied with it, including Osbourne. Rancic's co-host took to Twitter to speak out against her comment, publicly stating that she does not condone racism and is questioning staying on the show herself, giving everyone involved 24 hours to make it right.

While I'm not going to label Rancic racist (I'm sure it was just a very tasteless joke), I think if anyone should be offering to step down from the show, it's her. But I give Osbourne major props for taking a stand and wagering her job to fight for what she believes is right.
