Channing to Star in Gay Rom-Com?

by Lindsay Mannering

How much do I love Paul Feig? Let me count the ways. From Bridesmaids to The Heat to Freaks and Geeks to Knocked Up, almost everything the director touches turns to comedy gold, and when he teams up with Americas funniest women like Melissa McCarthy, Sandra Bullock, and Kristen Wiig, they make us laugh every damn time. And from the sound of things, there's more where that came from. The director sat down with CinemaBlend and revealed he's got a new project in the works: a Paul Feig gay rom-com starring Channing Tatum is hopefully on its way. Tatum is on Feig's wish list for the role, but nothing is yet set in stone.

It's all still a little up in the air, but Feig revealed that the movie's about a regular old guy who gets involved with a man who's so hot, he's got Sexiest Man Alive potential, and how he, the normal Joe, learns to cope with his place in the relationship. Feig wants SNL newcomer John Milhiser to play the part of the hot guy's boyfriend, which of course would be perfect. Feig went on to say that the film will turn the genre on its head. Obviously.

Unfortunately, there aren't many more details about this upcoming movie, but I'm pretty sure I just Channinged all over its Tatum simply reading that it could possibly, one day, be in theaters. It's just, when you stop to think about it, the idea for this movie is just so perfect. A movie that could possibly star Tatum, directed by Feig and that funny guy from SNL? It's a dream team of Bridesmaidian proportions.

Milhiser, here's something that would prep you for rehearsals.
