Why 'The Flash' Needs To Make A Speedy Return

by Kelly Schremph

Super smart gorillas… a bevy of meta-humans… late night karaoke sessions — these are all things we've come to expect from The CW's freshman superhero series The Flash. Yes, our beloved Barry Allen has come a long way since he first began donning that rather form-fitting scarlet suit, and yet there's still so much we have yet to uncover about not just his abilities, but his past as well. Every question that is answered leaves us with even more questions in its place. And while I love a good mystery just as much as the next girl, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't anxious to see how the rest of the season plays out. Which is a large part of what makes The Flash 's March 17 return all the more frustrating.

That's right, folks. Barry & Co. won't be back until St. Patrick's Day, which is still a full two weeks away. (You know, for a guy that's supposed to move faster than the speed of light, he sure is taking his time with this hiatus. Sometimes irony is the worst, amirite?) But when that glorious day does finally come, I've taken the liberty of writing out a few very important question the series needs to answer as quickly as possible upon its return.

Is Harrison Wells A Friend Or Foe?

Seriously, I still have no idea which side this guy is truly on. His actions alternate between good and evil so often that I'm starting to get a bad case of whiplash. So it'd be nice to finally know what his ulterior motives are. And given that the promo for "Out of Time" hints that Cisco actually uncovers Wells' Reverse-Flash identity, I'd say we're well on our way!

When Will Ronnie & Stein Return?

They may have left for now, but clearly this isn't the last we'll see of them, right? They both quickly became a welcome addition to S.T.A.R. Labs team and could really help Barry make major strides with this whole time travel scenario. Not to mention how nice it was to see Caitlin so happy again. Speaking of which…

Who The Heck Am I Supposed To Be 'Shipping?

Iris and Barry? Barry and Caitlin? Caitlin and Ronnie? Linda and Barry? There are so many potential relationships going on right now that I'm not entirely sure who to root for at this point. On the one hand, I love Barry and Caitlin's budding friendship. But then again, I also really love her with Ronnie. And then there's Iris, who seems to be getting a bit jealous of Barry's romance with Linda. Is it time for something to finally happen between these two or are the writers taking a really slow burn approach? Either way, it'd be nice to know the progression of at least one person's love life.

When Will Iris Discover The Truth About Barry?

I mean, it's only a matter of time, right? Especially now that she's made the connection between Firestorm and Ronnie — aka Caitlin's fake cousin. And once you find out about one metahuman, it becomes a very slippery slope. I wouldn't be surprised if she discover's Barry's secret identity by the end of the season. (Please?)

How Does Grodd Factor Into All Of This?

We've seen brief glimpses of him and are now fully aware of the damage he can do, but how will this play into the central storyline? Is he really working for Wells? And if so, how exactly does Wells intend to use his hairy henchman? I seriously doubt any good can come from this.

When Is the Next Arrow Crossover?

Because I think I speak for everyone when I say that this bromance needs to continue ASAP.
