6 'Pokemon' Mashups That'd Make Jigglypuff Proud

Someone give John Walker at MTV.com an award, for he oh-so graciously shared a very important Tumblr find. And that very important, award-worthy Tumblr find is a Nicki Minaj/ Pokémon mashup. SoundCloud user trixsel layered Minaj’s “Monster” verse over the Team Rocket song. The mashup of the speech Ash Ketchum’s nemeses delivered every time they appeared on the animated series and the legendary verse that propelled Minaj’s career into the stratosphere (no, that is not hyperbole; we all remember where we were when we heard "Pink wig, thick ass, give 'em whiplash" for the first time) is called "Team Monster". And "Team Monster" is perfection. While we’re handing out trophies, someone give SoundCloud user/genius trixsel an award, too.

This brilliant mashup sent me on a mission. My mission was not to become a Pokémon Master (even though it is my destiny). My mission was to find more Pokémon mashups. I HAD TO CATCH 'EM ALL! My mission proved to be very successful; the pot of soup that is the Internet is essentially overflowing with Pokémon song mashups. I ladled the mashups into a bowl, waited for the broth to cool, grabbed my spoon, and dug in.

Before I share what I found, let us begin with the mashup that sparked my quest:

I have chills. I don't know if that's a normal reaction, but whatever. It is what it is.

The Pokémon theme song + "Space Jam" by Quad City DJs

The mashup is terrific, yes, but it's the visuals that really take this one to the next level.

The Pokémon theme song + "Hustlin'" by Rick Ross

This has me PUMPED UP. I'm ready to go catch all of the pocket monsters.

The Pokémon theme song + "Applause" by Lady Gaga

Alex Owens debated choreographing a routine to this mashup for her big audition, but ultimately settled on Irene Cara's "Flashdance... What a Feeling".

The Pokémon theme song + "Gimme More" by Britney Spears

Listening to this is the closest my ears will ever get to eating Pixy Stix.

Pokémon + The Seinfeld theme

I'm hypnotized. I assume Hypno had something to do with this video.

The Silph Co. song + "Touch It" by Busta Rhymes

In my humble opinion, this one is the best. That is why I saved it for last. If I was a WWE wrestler, this would be the song that'd blare from the stadium's speakers when I entered the ring.
