Rihanna's New Song From 'Home' Sounds Fun

by Alex Kritselis

This week just keeps getting better and better for Rihanna fans: On Thursday, a clip of Rihanna's new Home song, "Dancing In the Dark," debuted online — and it sounds like a lot of fun! The 27-year-old pop star contributed three tracks in total to the Home soundtrack ("Towards the Sun" premiered last week), in addition to voicing one of the animated film's main characters. Wait... Rihanna made a kids' movie?? Yes, yes she did. Where have you been?

For those of you who don't already know, here's a quick rundown on Home: according to the official DreamWorks website, Home is about the friendship between a young girl named Tip (Rihanna) and a little purple alien named Oh (The Big Bang Theory's Jim Parsons). From what I can glean from the previews, Tip has been separated from her mother (Jennifer Lopez) and Oh has been cast out of his alien family. Together, they're both trying to find their way home. Doesn't that sound cute? Kinda? Sorta?

Anyway, here are the "Dancing in the Dark" lyrics we have so far:

I wanna dance in the dark and never stop

I wanna light up the night like shooting stars

Whenever you hear the sound, don't be alarmed

Ooh, ooh, ooh dancing in the dark

I must admit, I wasn't totally sure I was going to see Home until I watched the video above. As it turns out, the movie looks adorable! The music Rihanna recorded for it sounds pretty good so far, too. I wouldn't expect anything less — she is a legend, after all.

The Home soundtrack will be released on Tuesday, March 24. You can pre-order it on iTunes now. The movie hits theaters nationwide on Friday, March 27.
