Blogger Chiara Ferragni to Cover 'Vogue' España

by Jamie Cuccinelli

Fashion elite outrage over bloggers nabbing first row seats at New York Fashion Week? Please, that's old news. This fashion blogger just made history by being the first of the social media mavens to land a Vogue cover. Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad will cover Vogue España 's April 2015 issue, hitting newsstands March 20th.

Bloggers going the cover star route isn't exactly new. Lucky was the first of the glossies to feature fashion bloggers as cover goddesses when Ferragni appeared alongside the likes of Nicole Warne of Gary Pepper Girl, and Zanita Whittington of Zanita Zanita on their February issue. And now Vogue is getting in on the social media madness. Is it any surprise with such a trendsetting cover star that #ChiaraVogueCover is already trending on Twitter?

Ferragni expressed excitement over the cover on her blog (of course). Even for the blogging queen, who reportedly earns a revenue of a cool $2 million for her website alone, being photographed by Nico Bustos (who has shot the likes of Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, and Salma Hayek) while draped in furs and flanked by three Afghan Hounds, must still be the stuff of dreams. "I’m super proud and happy to tell you that I will be the cover girl of Vogue España April issue! This is my first Vogue cover ever and I can’t really tell you how much I’m thrilled about it..."

We have a feeling that we haven't seen the last of this blogger/magazine crossover. While I couldn't be happier to see Ferragni's gorgeous mug on the cover of Vogue, check out these other not-to-be-messed-with media queens who I would love to see gracing newsfeeds and newsstands alike.

Gabbi Gregg from GabiFresh

The adorably sexy, body positive blogger has modeled the wears of her swimsuit collaboration all over the net and even on the Today Show . Are glossy mag covers up next?

ManRepeller's Leandra Medine

Medine's strong, devil-may-care sense of style just screams for the high fashion pages of Vogue.

Christina Caradona of Trop Rouge

With that wild head of hair and a kooky sort of beautiful, Caradona's unique personal style isn't the only thing that belongs on a mag cover.

Jazzi McGilbert of Jazzi McG

The eclectic beauty needs to take her black lipstick-adorned smile to the cover of Nylon ASAP.

Natalie Off Duty's Natalie Suarez

The Chinese/Spanish blogger is just as uniquely beautiful as her style that makes you want to go play dress up in her closet. And I'm thinking that the fashion closet over at Vogue could use a touch of Natalie.
