9 Marshmallow Hacks That Will Blow. Your. Mind.

by Chrissa Hardy

There's nothing sweeter on this planet than a marshmallow — which is great, because there is no shortage of ways to eat marshmallows. Marshmallows are year-round, sugary and gooey treats that seem to never expire and taste best when they're artificially colored. But they really get to shine when Easter comes around. And since it's almost Easter and Peeps have begun dominating the candy aisle of every store, we should really figure out a way to include them in every meal and every real-life, non-Easter scenario. Because Easter will come and go, and all we'll be left with are some scattered strands of that fake grass and a pile of Peeps so high that we can barely crawl our way out.

Luckily, the good people of the Internet have come up with some insanely brilliant uses for marshmallows. They've come to our rescue and shared creative ways to use or eat them that go way beyond a bowl of Lucky Charms and s'mores. Some are recipes, some are remedies, some are decorative tricks, and there's even a super crafty edible shot glass thrown into the mix for good measure. Who knew marshmallows could be so versatile? They're like the baking soda of sugary snacks. Here are all the super cool ways to use marshmallows this Easter. Get ready to have your mind blown.

1. Make a marshmallow shot glass

Make a marshmallow shot glass. Fill that shot glass with booze. Toss that booze back. Eat shot glass whole. Enjoy sugary buzz forever and ever. Sounds like a happy ending to me.

2. Turn fries into dessert

If you could find a way to eat French fries or sweet potato fries for every meal, wouldn't you? I mean, is there anything better than fries? Oh yes, there is. Fries with melted marshmallows on top. Or potatoes. Just add marshmallows to any kind of potato product, and you've got a winning dish.

3. Turn it into frosting

Made a batch of cupcakes but forgot to whip up some frosting? EEK. But have no fear, because popping a marshmallow on top of each cupcake for a minute or so before the oven timer is up will give you the delish frosted cupcake topping you needed.

4. Make a marshmallow flower

How cute is this? And so easy. You just raised your cupcake game by three million points. Congrats!

5. Ease sore throats

That's right. The next time you feel a cold coming on, turn to marshmallows to save the day. The gelatin used to make the mallows is also a great pain reliever. Chew and swallow two or three marshmallows, and sit back as the soreness begins to fade.

6. Turn them into pops

Dip them in caramel, let it harden, and then dip them in chocolate. Cake pops were so 2014.

7. Use Peeps for pedis

Out of cotton balls? Use marshmallows as your toe separators for your next at-home pedicure.

8. Prevent ice cream drips

You know how when you eat an ice cream cone you have to change your shirt afterwards because no matter how fast you ate it, you still had to deal with the inevitable ice cream dripping from cone to clothes? It happens to the best of us. But if you put a marshmallow at the bottom of the cone before scooping the ice cream into it, it'll absorb the melty mess before a drip occurs.

9. Build a home for your Peep pals

Create a Peep terrarium and immortalize your marshmallowy chick for all eternity. Because Peeps will certainly outlive all humans anyway so...

Happy Easter!
