There's so much secrecy surrounding people's porn habits that they may as well be classified CIA directives. Most of us don't know all the ways our partners, friends, and family like their digital smut, and a new Buzzfeed video revealing anonymous porn revelations lifted from the Whisper app provides a pretty good idea of why this information is usually kept so private.
Sex shouldn't be silenced because it only adds to stigma and shame, but at the same time, it can be difficult to be open about your proclivities and not be punished or face prejudice for them. A friend of mine who shall remain nameless (OK, it's me), has been known to enjoy porn of a certain kind that could make some of her friends slightly uncomfortable. No, I'm not going to out what kind, because I don't want to be viewed as even more of a creep than I already am.
If anything, watching this video made me feel better about any "unsavory" porn pastimes I might have, particularly when hearing about what other people are watching.
