New Florence And The Machine Video: Prepare To Cry

by Chelsea Mize

After a several year hiatus for Florence Welch, Florence and the Machine is finally back and is slowly teasing us with new music videos. Florence and the Machine's most recent music video is a heartbreaking cinematic accompaniment to their new song entitled "St. Jude." The music video, which is dedicated to the patron saint of lost causes, is chillingly beautiful and I've come here to share with you the most heartbreaking moments from Florence and the Machine's "St. Jude."

Florence and the Machine has been slowly giving us glimpses of their new album, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, which will be released on June 2. "St. Jude" is the cinematic follow-up to the band's most recent music video, "What Kind of Man," which follows a lovesick Florence as she struggles with being strung along by an indecisive lover.

In "St. Jude," Florence has left her lover and the music video brings us along as she tries to navigate the tumultuous waters of heartbreak and chaos. The music video is simple but chilling and leaves me feeling like I should feel devastated, even if there's nothing to be devastated about. If you haven't seen the music video yet, check it out below and join me in looking at some of the most heartwrenching moments from the "St. Jude" music video.

Another conversation without a destination

Another battle; never won

And each side is a loser, So who cares if I held the gun?

And I'm learning, so I'm leaving

And even though I'm grieving, I'm trying to find the meaning

Let loss reveal it

St. Jude, patron saint of the lost causes

St. Jude, we were lost before she started

St. Jude, we lay in bed as she whipped around us

St. Jude, maybe I'll always be more comfortable in chaos

St. Jude; somehow she knew

And she came to give her blessing while causing devastation

I couldn't keep my mouth shut, I just had to mention, Grabbing your attention

Check out the full video here and wallow in pity with me and Florence.
