Taylor Swift: Fairy Godmother To Jaime King

by Maitri Suhas

Apparently Taylor Swift is as sugary sweet as she looks. By now you know she's curated a list of the most beautiful girl and women friends, who she posts constantly on her Instagram which would feel like a humble-brag IF anyone had anything bad to say about her as a person. And the friendships ain't just for looks, either: one of Taylor Swift's celebuddies, the illustrious Jaime King — who, at 35, is ten years older than Swift — talked to Elle about how choosing Taylor Swift as her next child's godmother was an easy decision: "I always knew she was going to be the godmother if I had another baby. Choosing a godmother is a very sacred and important thing in our family."

King went on to say that though it was an easy decision, it wasn't a light one: "We try and choose people who we know would raise our child the way that we would raise our child and her thoughtfulness, her kindness, her authenticity... is so powerful to me. She's so uninhibited in her giving... It’s just beyond." I guess I'm a horrible person when stacked up to T. Swift, because I really cannot remember the last time one of my friends gushed about me like that. King and Swift have only been friends since they met in January of last year, but as we know from Taylor's Instagram-documenting of her blossoming BFF-ships in real time, the two started hanging out in the summer and are now soulmates.

But Swifty has A LOT of soulmates, and she might have to make some room in her busy life when the rest of her friends start having babies, because I'd be willing to bet that Jaime King isn't the only one that wants an Aunt Taylor for their precious bundles. Who's most likely to ask Taylor to join the family?

Lorde

Whatever ethereal baby Lorde eventually has, I'm sure she'll ask Taylor to bring a little levity and lightness and blonde hair into her life. Lorde and Taylor's friendship just proves the age-old adage that opposites really do attract.

Lena Dunham

No doubt Lena Dunham will lean on Taylor if and when she has a baby, and then write a longform essay about it/ make it into a storyline on Girls, or both. As cynical and drily funny as Dunham is, Swift is genuine and bubbly and almost cloyingly sweet (but we're not even mad at her because apparently it's real?!) Dunham's potential babies could use that yin and yang in their life.

Karlie Kloss

Because obviously these two are obsessed with each other, and Karlie will name her baby Taylor, and Taylor will name her baby Karlie... and then their babies will one day get married. There is no alternative to this future.

These two have been together since the very beginning, even before Taylor began collecting friends more vigorously than she (probably) collected Beanie Babies growing up. So, obviously, Taylor would totally be a godmother to one of Selena's future kids.

Sam Smith

Imagine how that sweet child would croon with the guidance of Swifty and Smith. That's power.

Who's Next!?

Look at these power players she is hanging with. It's only a matter of time before they consider her for godmother... Justin Timberlake's wife Jessica Biel IS pregnant after all.
