Kelly Pulls a Fast One

by Lindsay Mannering

Some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this, but the American Idol star only waited nine months. After getting engaged back in Dec. 2012, Kelly Clarkson married Brandon Blackstock on Oct. 20 at Blackberry Farm, a luxury resort in Tennessee's Smoky mountains. The singer confirmed the news on Twitter saying, "I'm officially Mrs. Blackstock :)" Aww.

We knew that her wedding was imminent — we found out last week that Clarkson had obtained a marriage license, and since that shit expires after 30 days, it was obvious to everyone that she'd be walking down the aisle sooner rather than later.

So far, details about their nuptials are scarce, but we have to imagine a great band performed and that Kelly sang at least one or two of her hit songs. Even though she's famous for her breakup power ballads, there are a few tunes of hers on the more positive side that would lend themselves nicely as a serenade. Here's hoping she and her guests rocked out to her timeless classic, "My Life Would Suck Without You."

Plus, Blackstock is Reba McEntire's step-son. Put Clarkson and McEntire in a mountain setting and boom: it's a ceremony fit for music royalty.

Clarkson's been very open about how planning her wedding has been "overwhelming" and way too stressful — she even hinted that the two were going to elope — so we're happy for her that the big day is done. She told E! that she was "over the wedding part" of planning her life, so we have to assume she's thrilled to not have to think it anymore.

The biggest question that remains, though, is whether or not Justin Guarini was there. Did he and Clarkson duet? Did he walk her down the aisle? Did he, uh, ask for money? Die-hard Idol fans wanna know, of course.

Congrats to Kelly and Brandon!
