Kim & Kyle's 'RHOBH' Reunion Is Very Uncomfortable

by Laura Rosenfeld

When the preview of Tuesday night's first installment of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 5 reunion began, I got chills. CHILLS, I tell you! And for good reason, because these ladies have some drama to sort out, and I am overjoyed to take a front seat to it. There wasn't a pair of RHOBH cast members that I was more interested in seeing hash out their issues than Kim and Kyle Richards.

Much of the drama of Season 5 centered on Kim and Kyle's frequently strained relationship. They had some of the biggest blow-ups of the season, some of which was fueled by Kim's relationship to Brandi Glanville the Vile. Kim's belligerent behavior at Eileen Davidson's poker party and the sisters' past family drama also made their relationship strained once again this season.

The Season 5 finale of RHOBH showed Kim and Kyle's relationship hanging in the balance. With yet another fight between the sisters, and Brandi of course, during the finale, it was unclear whether or not Kim and Kyle would ever work out their issues.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they've made much progress since that episode. At the top of the reunion, Kim and Kyle admitted that this was not only the first time they had been in the same room for about three months, but it was also the first time they had spoken. Since the RHOBH reunion was filmed on Feb. 20, the sisters probably hadn't spoken much since filming on Season 5 of the show ended.

Yikes. This was much worse than I thought. Unfortunately, it got even worse.

Kim said she thought the RHOBH ladies instigated much of the drama between her and Kyle, to which Kyle said that Brandi was really the only one of their cast members who caused problems. The rest of the ladies were actually trying to help.

As you can see, this was not a happy reunion between Kim and Kyle. In fact, Kim said she was happy with the way things were between her and her sister. Now, she didn't flat-out say that she never wants to speak with Kyle again or not have a relationship with her. She just meant that she's happy with the way her life is right now. But she's not speaking to Kyle currently either. OK...

I was shocked when Kim said this, and I think my heart even broke a little. My heart sank even more when Kyle looked like she was just going to break down and cry. The drama between Kim and Kyle isn't just your run-of-the-mill, ridiculous, petty reality TV show drama. This stuff is really real, folks.

I'm really pulling for these two. I want nothing more than for them to be loving, supportive sisters again. It really pains me to watch their relationship deteriorate in front of our eyes. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they're going to get there any time soon. Kim and Kyle both agree that they probably need to just sit down and work out their issues off-camera and just be honest with each other. Let's hope they actually get there.
