This Is The Most Genius Way To Eat Peeps

by Kathryn Kattalia

Love them or hate them, Peeps will probably make an appearance at your Easter celebration this year, so you might as well put them to good use — mashed up and served on a graham cracker with gooey, melted chocolate. Even if you don't like the sugar-coated, bunny-shaped marshmallows, this chocolate peanut butter Peeps s'mores skillet recipe by How Sweet It Is will make a convert out of you yet.

The beauty behind this decadent recipe is its simplicity. Jessica Merchant, the mastermind behind the popular food blog, was able to see past the neon granules of sickly sweet sugar and appreciate Peeps for what they truly are — marshmallows. And what's the best way to eat marshmallows? In s'mores form, of course. I know, right? You kind of can't believe you didn't come up with this yourself.

The actual recipe itself is ridiculously easy to execute, and it only takes about 10 minutes to make. And while this recipe has all the fixings of the campfire classic you fell in love with as a kid, these s'mores are slightly more sophisticated... even if they do kind of look like Easter exploded in a skillet (and I mean that in a good way, obvs). Merchant combined dark and milk chocolate chips with Peeps to create this candy-colored creation, and then mixed in a half cup of peanut butter to take her dessert to another level of unforgettable. But rather than serve these smushed up in mini sandwich form, Merchant melted everything in a skillet and then used graham crackers as dippers in order to get this magic into your mouth. In other words: pure brilliance,

Here's what this looks like in action:

Yup, I'm super into this.

More, please.

Oh hell yes.

So there you have it, my little sugar mavens. Peeps s'mores have just won Easter. All other treats can go home now... well, except you, Cadbury Creme Eggs. You can stay.
